Our first application, iMoo, has just debuted on the iTunes store. It’s our flagship product – an iPhone version of the little can you tip over to make a moo-cow sound. Yes! We are promoting cow-tipping with this fun little gem! And it is CHEAP, as in 99 cents cheap.
Buy our cow-can! Visit the iTunes Store here, or peruse our pages on this site here.

Roma non fu fatta in un giorno is the classic latin proverb that translates “Rome was not built in a day.” When I think over the course of time that has transpired from my initial conception of creating Panda Cub Productions to the present-day reality of actually having everything in place to release our first iPhone application, this time worn latin proverb came to mind. Reflecting back over the course of how all of this has transpired gives way to sense of accomplishment, if for no other reason than just the mere fact of having finally arrived at this point.
How did it all begin you ask? Well, my initial business idea in having a company that produced Apple iPhone/iPod apps came about after seeing the success Apple obtained in terms of sales of the iPhone and iPod. Even more importantly, was gauging how well received Apples app store was with those users. Demand creates a market, and this particular market has a very high demand. This was definitely the market I wanted to get into. There were several other aspects that appealed to me in terms of really wanting to make a go of this type of field. It offers a sense of creativity, freedom, potential revenue (one of the reasons for going into business is the hope of making money right?) and the wherewithal to surround myself with good and talented people.
I knew that I wanted to have a partner who was creative, fun, professional, and most importantly one who has integrity. There was only one individual who I thought would be the right fit for such an endeavor. It was last November that I sent out my initial proposal to Tim, in hopes that he would not only find the idea appealing, but more importantly that he would accept. At the time, he and his wife were across the Pond (visiting England). It was not until he returned could we sit down and talk over all of the necessary aspects to make Panda Cub Productions a reality. From undertaking the necessary aspects of creating a legitimate and legal business entity, to the essential work of creating our first app went something akin to this:
- finding a business mentor (Tom Malloy’s years of business experience and his personal convictions made him my first and only choice…fortunately for me he accepted)
- attaining Tim as a business partner,
- acquiring the FBN (Fictitious Business Name),
- posting a “doing business as” ad within the local newspaper,
- opening a business bank account, choosing and registering the domain name,
purchasing web hosting,
- creating the logo (Bisho does great work in bringing ones initial concept to visualized actuality),
- putting together the web page (watching Tim shrink everything down so it fits perfectly onto his Powerbook…fun),
- hiring a programmer (Steve has done stellar work)
- and lastly, proceeding from the various stages of creating our first app, by way of manifesting the idea into working alpha builds, then to beta builds and lastly, finalizing it with a finished product ready to be released.
To think it has just about taken a year for all of our Panda Cubs to align…quite a journey to enter into, and one that I hope will continue for a long long time.
